Start here
Every GUNDAM CARD GAME product is a complete, playable starting point: the starter decks arrive ready to play, and a booster pack adds cards to a deck you already have. This page sets out what is actually in the game to build with, counted, so you can see the shape of a deck before you buy anything.

Start from a colour, not from a card
Colour is the game’s main building constraint: a deck is built around one or more of the five, and the game prints them in close to equal numbers — Green 210, Blue 208, White 202, Red 184, Purple 152.
Each starter deck is already built around one or two of them, so the simplest first step is to take a starter deck and add to it. There are 14 starter decks, holding between 13 and 19 cards each; the starter deck guide lists all of them with their colours.
Why the pilot cards matter
299 cards in the game carry a link field naming the card they pair with, covering 129 distinct characters. A unit’s paired lines only switch on while the named pilot is in play, which is why decks are usually built around specific pairings rather than around raw stats. 42 cards in the game print an effect that refers to pairing at all.

Frequently asked questions
What is the easiest way to start playing the GUNDAM CARD GAME?
A starter deck. All 14 are complete and playable, each built around one or two of the five colours, and they run from 13 to 19 cards.
How many cards do I need to build a deck?
The game does not publish a deck size we can quote, so we do not state one. What we can tell you is how the game is supplied: the starter decks contain between 13 and 19 cards, and the booster packs add to a deck you already own.
Do pilots work on their own?
No. A pilot pairs with the unit named in its link field, and the paired lines on both cards only apply while the pairing is in play. 299 cards in the game print a link field, covering 129 distinct characters.
Does CardSpicy sell GUNDAM CARD GAME cards?
No. We sell PSA 10 graded Pokémon cards, and the sleeves and rigid holders that fit every standard-size card including these. Anything on this page is information, not an offer to sell.
