Naruto Boruto Cards: The Next Generation Explained

Boruto is the newest era in Naruto and the thinnest one for cards. CardSpicy indexes 68 Naruto characters in total, and 13 of them belong to the next generation. The printed side is unusually easy to describe honestly, because so little of it exists.

This is the page where we say what is not there as clearly as what is. If you are looking for a Boruto card set, the short answer is that no publisher has released one, and the longer answer is worth reading.

What counts as Boruto

Boruto is the era that follows Shippuden: the Next Generations story and its sequel, Two Blue Vortex, together with the parent generation who carry over into it. In card terms there is no Boruto product line at all — no box, no series and no set carries the name. It is a stretch of story, and the only reason it has a page here is that the characters in it do.

The 13 Boruto characters

Thirteen names in the Naruto card index belong to this era. Four of them are new to it: Boruto Uzumaki, Sarada Uchiha, Mitsuki and Kawaki. The other nine carry over from earlier eras — Naruto Uzumaki, Sasuke Uchiha, Sakura Haruno, Sai, Shikamaru Nara, Hinata Hyuga, Konohamaru Sarutobi, Kurotsuchi and Orochimaru — and they are the same characters, not Boruto-specific versions of them.

Kurotsuchi is the one who is not from the Leaf Village; she is tagged to the Stone. Every other name in the thirteen belongs to the Leaf.

What is actually printed

This is the part worth being precise about. None of the four names that are new to this era — Boruto Uzumaki, Sarada Uchiha, Mitsuki and Kawaki — appears in a single record of the Naruto Mythos gallery, across either of its two published sets. That is not a gap in our own list. It is the state of the printed line: the one Naruto game with a public card database has not printed the next generation.

What it has printed is the parents. Naruto Uzumaki, Sasuke Uchiha, Sakura Haruno, Shikamaru Nara, Hinata Hyuga and Orochimaru all have records in that gallery, on the strength of their earlier cards. The Naruto card list holds those records and marks the line each one belongs to.

So the honest position for anyone asking about Boruto cards is this: no trading card publisher has released a Boruto set, no Boruto-specific card list exists to copy, and our own index carries the characters without carrying cards to match them. If a set appears, this page will say so.

Bandai’s game covers all three series

There is one confirmed card with a next-generation character on it. Bandai’s Naruto Card Game, announced in 2026 and due worldwide in the summer of 2027, is built to span all three series: Naruto, Shippuden and Boruto. Boruto Uzumaki is among the characters Bandai has shown so far, alongside Naruto Uzumaki, Sasuke Uchiha, Sakura Haruno, Jiraiya, Itachi Uchiha, Orochimaru and Tsunade.

That is one character, in a game that is not out yet, and it is the whole of what can be said with a source behind it. We cover the game, its deck structure and its card types separately in which of the 2027 Naruto card products is a game.

The Boruto anime is changing shape

The second part of the Boruto anime, Two Blue Vortex, has been confirmed for production and is set to run on a seasonal schedule rather than the continuous weekly run the franchise has used for more than twenty years. No broadcast date has been announced, so we do not give one.

For a collector this is the meaningful signal: a series that runs in seasons covers the same story faster and stops between arcs, which makes its characters visible in bursts rather than continuously. It does not tell us anything about a card set, and we are not going to pretend that it does.

Frequently asked questions

Are there Boruto Naruto cards?

No Boruto card set has been published. Boruto Uzumaki, Sarada Uchiha, Mitsuki and Kawaki do not appear in a single record of the Naruto Mythos gallery across either of its published sets. The only confirmed card carrying a next-generation character is in Bandai’s Naruto Card Game, which is not released until the summer of 2027.

Which Boruto characters have cards?

The parent generation does, on the strength of their earlier cards: Naruto Uzumaki, Sasuke Uchiha, Sakura Haruno, Sai, Shikamaru Nara, Hinata Hyuga, Konohamaru Sarutobi, Kurotsuchi and Orochimaru all have gallery records. The four characters new to this era have none yet.

What is Boruto: Two Blue Vortex?

Two Blue Vortex is the second part of the Boruto story. Its anime adaptation has been confirmed for production and is set to run on a seasonal schedule rather than a continuous one, but no broadcast date has been announced.

Do Boruto cards need different protection?

No. Every Naruto card, whatever era the character comes from, is printed at 63 × 88 mm, the same as Pokémon, One Piece, Gundam and Dragon Ball cards, so one standard-size sleeve and holder set covers them all.

Will there be a Boruto card set?

No publisher has announced one. Bandai’s Naruto Card Game is built to span Naruto, Shippuden and Boruto, and Boruto Uzumaki is among the characters it has shown, so it is the likeliest place a next-generation card appears first — but that is an expectation, not an announcement, and we mark it as one.
