Quick answer
CardSpicy indexes cards, so this page does the one thing a card collector needs from an event calendar: it sets out where the Naruto Card Game can actually be played in person, and what you have to do to walk away with the promo. Between 9 October and 1 November 2026 the game appears at five public events across three continents, all of them free to play at, and all of them gated behind a convention ticket rather than a card purchase. One promo card, CP-001, is the reason most people are going.
The tour is a demonstration tour. It is not a release date, and nothing at these events prices a card.
New York Comic Con, 8 to 11 October
The card game shares a stage with the rest of the franchise at New York Comic Con. The panel is billed as NARUTO: What’s Next? and runs on Saturday 10 October, 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. EDT, on the Empire Stage at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center. The date is not a coincidence: 10 October is Naruto Uzumaki’s birthday in canon.
Three things about the panel matter to a card collector rather than to a viewer.
- It is streamed worldwide and free to watch. The NARUTO / BORUTO official YouTube channel carries the full hour, so no badge is required to see what is announced. In Japan the stream runs 6:00 to 7:00 a.m. JST on Sunday 11 October.
- The card game is on the bill. The published panel description covers updates on the anime, the NARUTO CARD GAME and other projects, and the promotional video for the game is expected here rather than at a dedicated card event.
- It is the franchise’s own stage, not Bandai’s. That distinction is worth holding on to, because it sets expectations: a franchise panel announces a franchise, and card product announcements have historically come separately.
The guests are Junko Takeuchi, who has voiced Naruto Uzumaki since 2002, Noriaki Sugiyama, the voice of Sasuke Uchiha, and Yoshihiro Tominaga of PIERROT FILMS. There is also a separate signing session earlier the same day, 10:45 a.m. to 12:15 p.m., which requires a pre-show ticket rather than a walk-up. Our page on what the new Naruto anime is, and what it is not covers the announcement itself; this page stays on the game.
PAX Australia, 9 to 11 October
PAX Australia is the first stop on the calendar and the one with the most published detail. It runs 9 to 11 October at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre, and tutorial registration opened through BANDAI TCG+ at 11:00 a.m. AEST on 20 September on a first-come, first-served basis.
Four rules decide whether you can actually sit down at a table.
- A BANDAI TCG+ account is required to register.
- Each player may register for a maximum of one tutorial at the event.
- Convention admission is still required on top of the free session.
- The demo deck is provided during the session and cannot be taken home.
The playmat works differently here from anywhere else on the tour: participants enter a daily raffle for the opportunity to buy one, and winning the raffle does not make it free. The purchase window closes at booth close on the same day.
The three European stops
Europe gets three consecutive events, and Bandai has published the same shape for all of them: free tutorials, CP-001 to eligible participants, and the playmat in limited daily quantities.
| Event | Dates | Venue |
|---|---|---|
| SPIEL Essen | 22–25 October 2026 | Messe Essen, Germany |
| Paris Games Week | 22–25 October 2026 | Paris Expo Porte de Versailles, France |
| Lucca Comics & Games | 28 October – 1 November 2026 | Piazza Santa Maria, Lucca, Italy |
The first two run on the same four days, which is a deliberate split rather than a mistake: Germany and France are served in parallel, and Italy picks up the week after. Registration is planned on site on the day at each convention, not in advance, and each player may join one tutorial per convention.
There is one small inconsistency worth knowing. SPIEL Essen and Paris Games Week both list a free logo sticker for following an official social account or registering for the NARUTO TCG Updates Channel. The Lucca event page does not currently list that giveaway, so treat the sticker as a two-stop item rather than a tour-wide one.
How the CP-001 card is actually handed out
CP-001 is a Chakra card, and the tour is the only announced route to one outside Japan’s own events. The published conditions are the same at every stop, and all four have to be met.
- Hold valid admission to the host event. The tutorial is free; the convention ticket is not part of that.
- Register for a Naruto Card Game tutorial on site, subject to capacity on the day.
- Join the NARUTO TCG Updates Channel in the BANDAI TCG+ app. This is the step most often missed, because it is not part of signing up for the session.
- Complete the survey after the tutorial.
Bandai lists one participation prize per person. A detail that has been checked rather than assumed: all three European event pages describe the giveaway simply as CP-001 Chakra Card, and none announces a new city-stamped variant. That matches what we recorded when we catalogued the card types and the numbered cards shown so far, where CP-001 appears in three printings and no more.
The playmat, and why it is not free
The Naruto and Sasuke playmat is listed at an MSRP of $35 plus tax. Three restrictions apply at every stop: stock is limited each day, purchases are capped at one per person, and at PAX Australia you additionally have to win a raffle before you are allowed to buy.
One caveat that gets lost in the coverage. Bandai says the playmat is arriving in 2027, so the event listing should not be read as confirmation of a final retail launch date or a final price. If you want the mat, the event is currently the only way to get one; if you want to know when it goes on general sale, that has not been announced.
What this tour does not tell you
It does not give a release date. The game is confirmed for a simultaneous worldwide launch in Summer 2027, and a demonstration tour is not a schedule. A busy reveal calendar invites guesses about when product will follow, and we treat those guesses as guesses. The separate question of whether the game could arrive earlier is set out, with the evidence that does and does not exist, in our page on the three Naruto card products dated for 2027.
It also does not price anything. No platform publishes per-card values for this line, so there is no index that could move, and we quote no values. What the events do provide is the first chance most players get to play the game as designed, which is a rules question rather than a value one.
Frequently asked questions
Where can I play the Naruto Card Game in 2026?
At five public events between 9 October and 1 November 2026: PAX Australia in Melbourne (9–11 October), New York Comic Con (8–11 October, with the card game covered at the 10 October panel), SPIEL Essen and Paris Games Week (both 22–25 October) and Lucca Comics & Games (28 October – 1 November). Tutorials are free at all of them, and convention admission is required.
How do I get the CP-001 Chakra Card?
Four steps, all required: hold valid admission to the host event, register for a tutorial on site subject to capacity, join the NARUTO TCG Updates Channel in the BANDAI TCG+ app, and complete the post-tutorial survey. Bandai lists one participation prize per person, and the published European pages do not announce a city-stamped variant.
Is the official playmat free at these events?
No. The Naruto and Sasuke playmat is listed at $35 plus tax, is limited to one per person, and stock is limited each day. At PAX Australia you also have to win a daily raffle for the opportunity to buy one, and the purchase window closes at booth close that day. Bandai says the playmat itself arrives in 2027.
Do I need a convention ticket to attend a tutorial?
Yes. The tutorial session costs nothing, but admission to the host convention is separate and required. At PAX Australia registration also runs through BANDAI TCG+ on a first-come, first-served basis and opened on 20 September, so seats may already be accounted for by the time the event starts.
Does the tour announce a release date for the game?
No. The game is confirmed for a simultaneous worldwide launch in Summer 2027, and nothing at these events has changed that. Registration, promo distribution and a playmat sale are all consistent with a demonstration tour running months ahead of a launch, which is exactly what Bandai describes it as.
