Quick answer
CardSpicy dates a release from the publisher’s own product listing, and Legend Story Studios date every product line it has released. The booster sets run from the Alpha Print of Welcome to Rathe on 11 October 2019 to Usurp the Shadow Throne on 25 September 2026, which the publisher describes as the milestone twentieth standalone booster set. Alongside those sit three other dated lines: the Unlimited Editions that reissue the early sets, the History Packs and the Mastery Packs.
The dates are reproduced from the publisher’s own listings, because a release date is the one thing about a set that a card itself does not record.
How Flesh and Blood releases work
Three structural facts explain the shape of the list below, and each is stated by the publisher.
- Sets are not replaced. The publisher describes the game as rewarding decisions rather than luck and does not operate a rotating set list. Legality is handled by the Living Legend rule instead, which is covered on the formats page linked below.
- A reprint can be a separate dated product. The publisher dates Unlimited Editions and History Packs as products in their own right, rather than folding a reissue into the original set’s listing.
- The early printings carry an edition marker. The first sets were released as 1st Edition, and the Alpha Print of Welcome to Rathe is named separately from its Unlimited Edition.
That third point is the one with the longest tail. A 1st Edition printing and an Unlimited Edition printing of the same set are the same cards from different production runs, and the publisher lists them as different products with different dates.
The booster sets, in the publisher’s order
| Released | Set |
|---|---|
| 11 October 2019 | Welcome to Rathe (Alpha Print) — the first booster set, and the game’s worldwide debut. |
| 27 March 2020 | Arcane Rising (1st Edition) |
| 28 August 2020 | Crucible of War (1st Edition) |
| 7 May 2021 | Monarch (1st Edition) |
| 24 September 2021 | Tales of Aria (1st Edition) |
| 4 February 2022 | Everfest |
| 24 June 2022 | Uprising |
| 11 November 2022 | Dynasty |
| 24 March 2023 | Outsiders |
| 14 July 2023 | Dusk till Dawn |
| 6 October 2023 | Bright Lights |
| 2 February 2024 | Heavy Hitters |
| 31 May 2024 | Part the Mistveil |
| 20 September 2024 | Rosetta |
| 31 January 2025 | The Hunted |
| 6 June 2025 | High Seas |
| 26 September 2025 | Super Slam |
| 13 February 2026 | Compendium of Rathe — described by the publisher as featuring support for every hero, class and talent in the game. |
| 5 June 2026 | Omens of the Third Age — three Lightning heroes, one each of Runeblade, Illusionist and Wizard. |
| 25 September 2026 | Usurp the Shadow Throne — the twentieth set, with three Shadow heroes, described by the publisher as the penultimate chapter of the War of the Monarch. |
The publisher dates each set to a single day rather than to a month, which is unusual enough in the category to be worth noting: a reader comparing two games’ release lists will find Flesh and Blood the more precisely dated of them.
The Unlimited Editions
An Unlimited Edition is a second production run of an early set, and the publisher dates each one separately from the original.
| Released | Product |
|---|---|
| 6 November 2020 | Welcome to Rathe (Unlimited) |
| 20 November 2020 | Arcane Rising (Unlimited) |
| 4 June 2021 | Monarch (Unlimited) |
| 30 July 2021 | Crucible of War (Unlimited) |
| 12 November 2021 | Tales of Aria (Unlimited) |
The pattern is consistent: the earliest three sets received an Unlimited Edition within about a year of their 1st Edition release, and each Unlimited Edition is listed as a product in its own right rather than as a reprint note on the original.
The History Packs
| Released | Product |
|---|---|
| 6 May 2022 | History Pack 1 |
| 1 July 2022 | History Pack 1 (Black Label) |
| 24 February 2023 | History Pack 2 (Black Label) |
History Pack 1 is the only one of the three with two dated versions: an initial release in May 2022 and a Black Label version two months later. History Pack 2 is listed from the outset as a Black Label product.
The Mastery Packs
| Released | Product |
|---|---|
| 8 August 2025 | Mastery Pack Guardian |
| 7 August 2026 | Mastery Pack Warrior |
Each Mastery Pack is named after a class rather than after a set, and the two are dated almost exactly a year apart. The publisher also publishes release notes for each one, in the same part of its rules centre where it publishes the release notes for the booster sets.
What this page does not claim
- It does not give card counts. The publisher states a composition for each set, and those figures differ; the one set with a composition quoted on this site is quoted on its own page.
- It does not rank the sets by collectability. CardSpicy prints no prices and makes no valuation or investment recommendation.
- It does not list promotional or prize products. Those are recorded in the publisher’s Collector Center rather than in the dated product listings this page follows.
Frequently asked questions
What was the first Flesh and Blood set?
Welcome to Rathe, released as an Alpha Print on 11 October 2019. It was the game’s worldwide debut after seven years of development, and an Unlimited Edition followed in November 2020.
How many Flesh and Blood booster sets are there?
Twenty standalone booster sets by the publisher’s own count, with Usurp the Shadow Throne dated to 25 September 2026 as the twentieth.
What is an Unlimited Edition?
A second production run of an early set. The publisher dates each one separately from its 1st Edition release, and five sets have one.
What is the difference between a History Pack and a booster set?
A History Pack is a dated product of its own rather than a set in the numbered sequence. History Pack 1 and History Pack 2 are listed separately, the first also having a Black Label version.
Do Flesh and Blood sets go out of print?
The publisher reissues early sets as Unlimited Editions and as History Packs rather than rotating them out. Legality is handled by the Living Legend rule, which applies to heroes rather than to sets.
