Quick answer
CardSpicy keeps to what a publisher has dated, and the hololive OFFICIAL CARD GAME is one of the few card games whose schedule is easy to read from its own product pages. The most recent booster, Volume Vortex, released on 19 September 2026; the next, Glory Echo, arrives on 18 December 2026; and two character start decks land on 30 October 2026. A further booster is listed on the same page as coming soon, with no date attached yet.
A card game built from a talent agency rather than a story, and the first franchise where the roster is the product line.
What the game is, briefly
The hololive OFFICIAL CARD GAME is a two-player trading card game built around the hololive production roster of virtual talents. Its unusual feature is structural rather than mechanical: instead of expanding one fictional world, each release strengthens a named group of talents, and the deck you build is organised around which talent you are backing. The game’s own term for that is the oshi, and the card category that carries it is the oshi holomem card.
That design has a direct consequence for how the release schedule works. A new booster is partly a new set of cards and partly a series of upgrades to decks that already exist, which is why the product pages list both a set of new oshi cards and a much longer list of talents whose existing cards are being strengthened. If you are reading a release to decide whether your deck gains anything, the second list is the one that matters.
Volume Vortex, dated and specced
The September booster is the current set, and its specification is published in full on the official product page.
| Item | As listed officially |
|---|---|
| Release | 19 September 2026 |
| Cards per pack | 8 |
| Pack price | 440 yen, tax included |
| Packs per box | 12 |
| Box price | 5,280 yen, tax included |
| Base card types | 125, of which 14 are reprints |
| Parallel card types | 130 |
The base rarity split across the 125 types is seven OSR, twelve RR, twenty-four R, thirty-one U and fifty-one C. The parallel column is the one that decides what a box is actually worth opening, so it is worth setting out on its own.
| Parallel tier | Types |
|---|---|
| SEC, foil-stamped signature | 4 |
| OUR | 7 |
| HR, holomem Rare | 6 |
| UR | 12 |
| SY, Special Cheer | 6 |
| SR | 37 |
| S | 58 |
Three of those codes need explaining, because the game uses them in a specific way. OSR stands for oshi holomem Super Rare and marks the cards that define a deck’s oshi, and the seven of them sit in the base set rather than the parallel one. SEC marks the foil-stamped signature cards, and there are four of them here. HR is the holomem Rare tier, and SY is the Special Cheer card, which the page notes carries artwork made specifically for this release. The parallel column as a whole is made up of alternative treatments of cards that also exist in the base set, which is why a set with 125 base types ends up with 130 parallel types rather than a second full checklist.
The two talents this set was built around
The packaging names three talents, and the page gives one worked example of what the set is actually for. Combining the oshi card for Subaru Oozora with Hakos Baelz makes an Oozora Police deck, and the set also includes an AZKi and Kazama Iroha pair whose new first holomem cards are described as getting stronger when the two are played together. That is the clearest statement of the design intent in the whole listing: the set is built to make specific two-talent combinations work, not simply to add cards.
If you are buying to improve a deck rather than to collect, the useful exercise is to read the talent list on the product page and check it against the deck you already own. A booster that strengthens twenty-five talents will not strengthen every deck, and the official page names all twenty-five. Our page on whether to open a booster box or keep it sealed is the relevant one if you are deciding between opening for specific cards and holding the box.
Glory Echo, the December set
The second dated booster follows the same structure with a new group of talents, and its specification is already published.
| Item | As listed officially |
|---|---|
| Release | 18 December 2026 |
| Pack and box price | 440 yen per pack, 5,280 yen per box, tax included |
| Base card types | 112, of which 10 are reprints |
| Parallel card types | 124 |
| Talents included | 30 |
The base rarity split is six OSR, twelve RR, twenty-four R, thirty-one U and thirty-nine C. The difference worth noticing against the September set is the oshi count: seven new oshi cards in September, six in December, against a talent list that grows from twenty-five to thirty. That is the game’s release rhythm in one number, and it tells you the December set is slightly wider in talent coverage and slightly narrower in new oshi options than the one before it.
The packaging for this one names two members of ReGLOSS, Ririka Ichijo and Raden Juufuutei, and the oshi cards included cover six talents including Akai Rosenkrantz and Botan Shishiro. The rest of the set is, as before, dominated by upgrades to existing decks.
The start decks and the accessory line
Two start decks are dated alongside the boosters, both on 30 October 2026 at 1,980 yen each, and both are built around a pair of talents rather than a single one. They are listed as part of the Asobi Mawari-tai group, which is the game’s beginner-facing product line.
The accessory line runs on its own calendar, and for a card game with foil-stamped signature cards it is worth reading rather than skipping.
| Date | Item | Price |
|---|---|---|
| 18 December 2026 | Official hololive card case | 880 yen |
| 18 December 2026 | Official hololive sleeves | 990 yen |
| 22 January 2027 | Official acrylic card loader | 2,200 yen |
| 22 January 2027 | Official special card case, ReGLOSS design | 4,400 yen |
Two details matter here. First, an official card loader is a rigid holder rather than a sleeve, which is the product you use for a card you are not playing with. Second, the ReGLOSS case is priced at five times the standard case, which is the usual signal that it is a made-to-order or limited item rather than a general retail one. Our pages on card storage boxes and on penny sleeves versus toploaders cover the general distinction between the two jobs.
What this page does not claim
Four limits, stated plainly.
- The undated booster is not dated. One further booster pack is listed on the official product page as coming soon, with no release date and no price published. Nothing here should be read as a date for it.
- These are the Japanese listings. The game runs separate Japanese and English editions with separate schedules. A Japanese release date is not an English-edition street date.
- No card list. The official pages give card-type counts, rarity splits and talent names. They do not publish a full checklist, and nothing here should be read as a list of individual cards.
- No valuation. CardSpicy quotes the publisher’s own suggested retail prices, which are set in Japan, and makes no valuation or investment recommendation about any card or sealed product.
Frequently asked questions
When is the next hololive OFFICIAL CARD GAME booster released?
Glory Echo is listed for 18 December 2026 at 440 yen per pack and 5,280 yen per box in Japan. A further booster is listed as coming soon with no date attached.
What is an OSR card in the hololive OFFICIAL CARD GAME?
OSR stands for oshi holomem Super Rare. It is the tier that carries the oshi holomem cards, which are the cards that define which talent a deck is built around. Volume Vortex contains seven OSR types and Glory Echo contains six.
What are the SEC cards in Volume Vortex?
SEC marks the foil-stamped signature cards. Volume Vortex lists four SEC types among its 130 parallel card types, and the official page states that the Noel Shirogane SEC carries artwork drawn for the product.
What is the difference between a base card type and a parallel card type?
A base type is a card as it appears in the standard set. A parallel type is an alternative treatment of a card that also exists in the base set, which is why a set with 125 base types can list 130 parallel types without having a second full checklist.
Are these Japanese or English release dates?
They are the dates on the game’s official Japanese product listing. The English edition runs its own schedule, so a date here should not be treated as an English-edition street date.
