Battle Spirits in late 2026: the dated line, the Aikatsu! crossover

Quick answer

CardSpicy works from the publisher’s own product listings, and Battle Spirits publishes one of the fullest calendars of any Japanese card game. The line is running on a television-anime renewal, and the products around it are dated through to January 2027: the booster pack Zekkai no Hasha on 17 October 2026, two anime starter decks a week earlier on 10 October, a collaboration booster and starter built on Aikatsu! on 26 December 2026, and the next booster, Enkuu no Kitei, on 23 January 2027. Each booster pack is listed at 350 yen including tax.

The calendar is worth reading in full because two of these releases are not Battle Spirits products at all in the way a collector would expect: one is a collaboration line, and one belongs to a separate Diva sub-series with its own deck rules.

What Battle Spirits is, in product terms

Battle Spirits is Bandai’s long-running trading card game, built on two card types: Spirits, which fight, and Cores, which are spent as a resource and moved between cards. It has run through several television anime series, and the current one, Battle Spirits [Re] Zekkai no Sora, is the reason for a run of products carrying the protagonist and rival’s key Spirits.

The game splits its releases into two lines that a buyer has to keep separate. The mainline products carry set codes beginning with the year, and the booster pack is the standard way the card pool grows. Alongside it sits the Diva sub-series, which has its own starter decks, its own booster and its own tournament programme. If any of the labels here need unpicking, our glossary sets out the difference between a booster, a starter deck and a collaboration product.

The dated Battle Spirits line

Release Product Code Price
26 September 2026 Diva Booster: Next Story 26RDB01 440 yen
26 September 2026 Diva Starter: Hajimari no Symphony 26RSD08 1,980 yen
10 October 2026 Anime Starter: Kakusei no Renou 26RSD09 1,650 yen
10 October 2026 Anime Starter: Shin’en no Kaigei 26RSD10 1,650 yen
17 October 2026 Booster Pack: Zekkai no Hasha 26RBS03 350 yen
21 November 2026 Eternal Booster: Keiyakuen-sho Chapter 2 BS77 350 yen
19 December 2026 Anime Starter: Soufuu no Kengou 26RSD11 1,650 yen
26 December 2026 Collaboration Booster: Aikatsu! Aratanaru Kirameki 26RCB02 363 yen
26 December 2026 Collaboration Starter: Aikatsu! Standard Stage! 26RSD12 1,980 yen
23 January 2027 Booster Pack: Enkuu no Kitei 26RBS04 350 yen

Two patterns run through that table. The first is the pairing of starter decks with boosters: the two October anime starters land a week before the October booster, and the pattern repeats in December, when the third anime starter arrives a week before the Aikatsu! collaboration products. That staggered habit is common among Japanese publishers, and it is the reason a Battle Spirits “release” for a series is often two dates rather than one. Anyone planning a storage or binder purchase around a set should work from the later of the two dates.

The second is the price band. Mainline boosters sit at 350 yen a pack, and the collaboration booster is priced at 363 yen, which is close enough to be the same band. The starter decks are the expensive end of the line at 1,650 to 1,980 yen, because a starter is a ready-to-play deck rather than a pack.

The October booster: Zekkai no Hasha

The October booster carries the code 26RBS03 and is built on the new anime. The publisher states that it contains the key Spirits of the protagonist, Sora, and the rival, Ibuki, and that it also adds upgrade cards for the anime starter decks.

Booster Pack 26RBS03 As listed by Bandai
Release 17 October 2026
Price 350 yen per pack including tax
Cards per pack 9
Card types 113 in total
Rarity breakdown Common 54, Rare 24, Master Rare 20, X Rare 15

The rarity table is where the set’s structure lives, and one line of it is new. Bandai states that the set introduces a new family of X Rare Spirits built on the theme of the blade and the flower, and that this booster carries three of them, with three more to follow in the next booster. The banner cards of a set usually carry its chase value, and a first appearance of a new family is the kind of detail a player watches rather than a collector.

The set also runs two parallel rarities worth naming. A Secret version of certain cards appears with new artwork, and the set carries an Over Secret treatment using gold foil, plus a rarer card still. Bandai names the card at the top of that ladder. As with any parallel rarity, the point is that the same card name can exist in more than one printing, and the printing is what a buyer pays for. Our open-it-or-keep-it-sealed page goes through how that usually plays out.

The Aikatsu! collaboration, which is a separate line

The two December products are a collaboration, which in this game means a card pool drawn from an outside property and sold under its own codes. Bandai lists a collaboration booster carrying the code 26RCB02 at 363 yen a pack, alongside a collaboration starter deck carrying 26RSD12 at 1,980 yen, and both are built on Aikatsu!. The starter is the more expensive product because, like the anime starters, it is a complete deck.

A collaboration line behaves differently from a mainline set. It is aimed at buyers who already follow the property, it is priced and configured for that audience, and its cards sit in a set of their own rather than extending the mainline pool. For a collector deciding what to buy, the practical consequence is that a collaboration product is not a substitute for a mainline booster, and the two should be budgeted separately.

Organised play and the rules documents

Battle Spirits runs a full competitive programme, and the publisher dates it as tightly as the products. The current season includes the Battlers Cup for 2026, a Wild Bout series, the Diva Producer Cup, and the Battle Spirits Championship 26-27, which runs qualification events for both one-on-one and three-on-three formats and finishes in a Grand Final. Bandai also runs the BANDAI CARD GAMES Fest, a multi-title event where several of its card games are played in one place.

Two documents sit behind all of that, and both are worth knowing about before buying a single card. The first is the official rules manual for the Standard format, which the publisher keeps versioned. The second is the forbidden and limited card list. A card’s place in a deck can change when that list changes, and that is why a format position should never be treated as permanent. Anyone weighing a single card as a purchase should read our is it worth grading page before doing so.

There is also a legality note attached to the October booster: Bandai states that cards from the set become legal in sanctioned tournaments from the release date itself, 17 October 2026. That is a reminder that the booster is a playable product and not a pure collectible.

What this page does not claim

Four limits, stated plainly.

  • Every date, price and product detail here comes from Bandai’s own product listings. The codes, the release dates, the prices, the card types and the rarity breakdown for the October booster, and the product line for the rest of the calendar, are all taken from the publisher’s own pages.
  • The dates and prices are the publisher’s Japanese listings. The official product pages are Japanese, and the dates stated here are the Japanese ones, in yen including tax. Other regions follow their own schedules.
  • No full card lists are reproduced. Bandai publishes set codes, dates, configuration and rarity breakdowns, not a card-by-card checklist for every product in advance. Nothing here should be read as a list of the cards inside a product.
  • No valuation. CardSpicy quotes the publisher’s own suggested retail prices and makes no valuation or investment recommendation about any card or sealed product.

If you are buying from this calendar to open it, our card market report is the place to look for the wider picture of what card prices are doing. If you are storing what you buy, the card protection guide and card sleeve sizes pages cover the two decisions that come first, and the card accessories page covers the rest of what a deck needs on the table.
