Umbreon is where the money is in the Eevee family. Thirty-three cards exist in the Chinese-only sets and twenty-eight of them carry a tracked price — and four of those twenty-eight hold 64% of everything the character is worth.
That shape is unusual for the Chinese line. Most characters spread their value across a broad middle; Umbreon does not. It has two printings above $1,000, both of them the same artwork, and then a long tail that mostly sits under $60. This is the ranked ten, with the PSA 10 value of each and what a raw copy costs beside it.
How this list was built
Three rules, applied in this order.
- The card has to sit in a Chinese-only set. Every card below carries a set code ending in C — CS4aC, CBB2C, CSM2cC, CSV4C. That trailing letter marks a Simplified Chinese print run, and it is the dependable way to tell a Chinese-only card from a card that merely happens to be printed in Chinese. Reading a Chinese set code from end to end covers the whole system.
- The card has to have a tracked PSA 10 value. Thirty-three Umbreon cards exist across these sets and twenty-eight of them have a PSA 10 price on record. The five that do not are recent enough that graded copies have not changed hands yet, and a card with no price cannot be ranked. Four of those five are Grand Terastal Gathering printings.
- The card has to be a Pokémon card. Sealed product, trainer cards and energy are out of scope.
One exclusion applies here as it does to every character ranking we publish. Promo printings of Umbreon exist in Chinese and they are not on this list. Promo numbering is shared across the Chinese branches — the same promo number appears in Traditional Chinese product as well — so a promo number on its own cannot establish which branch a card came from. Everything below sits inside a numbered set whose code ends in C, which is unambiguous.
The ten, ranked
10. Umbreon [Stars] — Gem Pack Vol. 2 (CBB2C) #606 — $110
Raw $2.99 · grade 9 $7.09
A Stars foil from Gem Pack Vol. 2 and the tenth card here at $110. Raw copies are three dollars, which makes the multiple on this card the steepest in the top ten — over thirty-six to one from a raw copy to a graded one. On the cheap end of Gem Pack, the holder is doing nearly all the work.
9. Umbreon V — CS4aC #151 — $116

The lower of two Umbreon V printings in CS4aC, and eight and a half times its raw price in a PSA 10 holder. CS4aC is the set that supplies nine of Umbreon’s thirty-three Chinese cards, more than any product except Gem Pack Vol. 2.
8. Umbreon & Darkrai GX — CSM2cC #44 — $122

The lowest-numbered of the three Umbreon and Darkrai tag team cards in CSM2cC. Grade 9 sits at nearly three times the raw price here, at $75.99 against $27.45, so this is a card where the mid grade already carries most of the premium.
7. Umbreon VMAX — CS4aC #162 — $167

The strongest of the CS4aC VMAX printings that is not #173 itself. The set prints the character at three quality levels — V, VMAX and the full art — and the VMAX tier is where the middle of this list sits.
6. Umbreon & Darkrai GX — CSM2cC #157 — $273

The second of the tag team printings, and worth more than twice the #44 above it. With no grade 9 record at all and a raw price of $49, this is another card whose collector value is concentrated entirely in the top grade.
5. Umbreon V — CS4aC #152 — $286

The higher of the two Umbreon V cards in CS4aC, at more than twice the price of #151. Raw and grade 9 sit level here, at $127.30 and $122.50, so the whole premium is the step from a grade 9 to a PSA 10 — a $164 difference.

The strongest of the three tag team printings and the first card on this list at a round $400. It is also the only Umbreon on this list that is not a solo card in the upper half: everything above it carries Umbreon alone.

The second version of #173. The same card is tracked twice on the secondary market: once as the standard pull, which is the card ranked first on this list, and once as a version tied to a 25-card pack product, which is what sits at number two. Neither version has a raw or grade 9 record, so the two four-figure figures are PSA 10 observations only.

Note the raw figure against grade 9: raw copies are tracked above the grade 9 price here, at $833.29 against $610.00, which happens where a particular grade band has thin records rather than because the card is worth less in a holder.
What the ranking shows
Umbreon is the most concentrated character in the Eevee line and one of the most concentrated in the language. Four cards hold 64% of the total, and the combined value of all twenty-eight priced Umbreon cards is 2.7 times the whole of Eevee.

Two further patterns run across the whole group.
Every card here is worth more in a PSA 10 than raw or in a grade 9. That holds across all twenty-eight priced Umbreon cards without exception, though the margin narrows sharply at the top: on the four-figure card the PSA 10 is only 1.6 times the raw price, where the median across the character is 12.55.
Gem Pack Vol. 2 supplies the volume, CS4aC supplies the ceiling. Vol. 2 contributes fifteen of the thirty-three Umbreon cards and $1,342 in total value; CS4aC contributes nine cards and $3,164, driven almost entirely by the two versions of #173. The counts are cards, not artworks. Gem Pack prints each Pokémon in a group as a ladder of treatments — a Poké Ball foil, a Master Ball foil, a stars pattern, a stamped version, and so on, up to the art rare at the top — so a single Umbreon group can contribute fifteen separate cards to that total while only one of them is a chase.

- The least expensive way in: a Stars or Poké Ball foil from the Vol. 2 group. Those sit between $36 and $110 and they are the same product as the $651 art rare, which makes them the least expensive route to a graded Umbreon.

Which Umbreon card is the most valuable in Simplified Chinese?
Umbreon VMAX from CS4aC — #173 — carries the highest tracked PSA 10 value among Umbreon cards in Chinese-only numbered sets, at $1,341. It is also the highest of any character in the Eevee family. Chinese promo printings sit outside that comparison, because their numbering is shared between the Chinese branches.
Are these cards Simplified Chinese exclusives?
No. Every card on this list is printed under a Chinese-only set code, but the Pokémon and the card design also appeared in other languages. “Chinese-only” describes the print run, not the artwork. Umbreon is not among the four commissioned Collect 151 art rares — those four are Pikachu — so nothing in this ranking is exclusive to the Chinese line.
Why are there two versions of Umbreon VMAX #173?
The same card is tracked twice on the secondary market: as the standard pull, and as a version tied to a 25-card pack product. Both carry PSA 10 values — $1,341 and $1,050 respectively — and both sit in the top two places on this list. Treat them as one artwork with two release routes rather than two different cards, and check which version a listing refers to before comparing prices.
How much would a full Umbreon collection cost?
The twenty-eight priced Umbreon cards combine to $5,382 at their tracked PSA 10 values. That figure is dominated by four cards — the two versions of #173, the Gem Pack art rare at $651 and the strongest tag team card at $400. The other twenty-four cards together come to $1,940, so a collection that skips the top four costs about a third of the whole set.
Is a PSA 10 worth the premium over a raw card?
On this list, every card is worth more in a PSA 10 than raw or in a grade 9, and the median raw-to-PSA-10 multiple across the twenty-seven priced Umbreon cards with a raw comparison is 12.55. Grading outcomes are never certain, and nothing here is a prediction about what any individual card will grade at.
Umbreon or Eevee — which is the better buy?
They are opposite propositions. Umbreon concentrates 64% of its value in four cards and has two printings above $1,000; Eevee has no card above $220 at all. Umbreon is the one where a single card can carry a collection, and Eevee is the cheaper character to collect in depth.
