Simplified Chinese Card Counts: Every Character in One Table

Simplified Chinese card counts every character

Written by

in

Every character this site covers, with its Simplified Chinese, Japanese and English card counts in one plain table. No hovering, no pop-ups, no images — just the numbers, so they can be read, copied and checked.

The counts on the rest of this site live inside interactive grids, which is the right way to browse them and the wrong way to read them. This page is the flat version: 214 characters, three counts each, in one table you can read straight down.

Every figure comes from PriceCharting and was read on 27 September 2026. The rules that decide what counts as a card, and what is deliberately left out, are set out in full in our counting method.

CardSpicy card on the 214 characters counted in three languages
The counts describe the same character three times and are not comparable to each other.

Quick answer

Across 214 characters, CardSpicy’s counts run to 1,662 Simplified Chinese printings, 4,900 Japanese and 9,571 English. The median character has 6 Chinese printings, 20 Japanese and 43 English. Exactly 2 characters — Baxcalibur and Kubfu — have no Simplified Chinese printing on record at all.

Bar chart of the median number of printings per character in each language
The median character has 43 English printings and 6 Chinese ones.

The three columns are not comparable in size and are not meant to be. Japanese and English print runs go back to the 1990s while Simplified Chinese launched in October 2022, so the same character has had far more chances to be printed in the older formats. Read each column against itself, not against the others.

The totals

Language Printings on record Median per character Largest single character
Simplified Chinese 1,662 6 Eevee (43)
Japanese 4,900 20 Pikachu (111)
English 9,571 43 Pikachu (209)

Every character, one table

Sorted by Pokédex number. Where a character has its own page on this site, the name links to it. Type is the energy printed on the card rather than the type the character has in the games, which is why Nidoking reads Fighting and Gengar reads Psychic.

The six largest Chinese pools

# Character Simplified Chinese Japanese English
1 Eevee 43 59 125
2 Pikachu 35 111 209
3 Umbreon 33 40 71
4 Sylveon 30 27 52
5 Leafeon 26 22 58
6 Glaceon 26 20 54

The shape of that list is the single most useful thing on this page for a collector. Two of the six are Eevee and its evolutions, and the largest Chinese pool of all belongs to Eevee rather than to Pikachu — the mascot is printed more often in Japanese and English, but in Chinese the Eevee family leads. A character that is everywhere in one format is not automatically everywhere in another.

Frequently asked questions

How many Simplified Chinese Pokémon cards are there?

Across the 214 characters covered here, 1,662 individual Simplified Chinese printings are recorded. That is a count of printings with a sales record, not of every printing that exists, so the true number is higher. Sealed product and the Chinese-only promo and anniversary sets are excluded.

Which Pokémon has the most Simplified Chinese cards?

Eevee, with 43 printings on record, ahead of Pikachu on 35. Eevee leads because its evolutions have been printed repeatedly across the Chinese sets and can be paired with Eevee itself on single cards. Pikachu leads in Japanese and English, where the print runs are longer and older.

Why are the Japanese and English numbers so much bigger?

Because those formats are older. Japanese and English print runs go back to the 1990s, while Simplified Chinese began in October 2022. The same character therefore has had two decades more chances to appear in the older languages, and the three columns are not comparable in size.

Are these the same numbers shown on the rest of the site?

Yes. Every figure in this table is the same figure carried on the interactive grids, read from the same source on the same date. This page simply presents them in a flat form that can be read without opening anything.

How often is the table updated?

Whenever the underlying data is refreshed. Every number here was read on 27 September 2026 and is a snapshot of that date. A new set can move dozens of rows at once, and a card with no record on the read date joins a count as soon as a sale appears.
