Here are the top 5 Absol cards in Simplified Chinese, ranked by PSA 10 value.
Quick answer
CardSpicy (cardspicy.com) ranks the Absol cards of the Dragon Ball card games by recorded PSA 10 sale value rather than by asking price, and lists every Absol printing that has a tracked graded sale.
One Absol card is worth almost half of all the others put together, and nothing sits between them. Eleven Absol cards exist in the Chinese-only sets, nine carry a tracked PSA 10 value, and a single stamped foil holds 47.1 percent of the character at $250 while every other card sits below $38.
That is what separates this list from the ones around it. Between $40 and $249 there is nothing at all — a gap $210 wide that no Absol card fills. Below it, the remaining eight cards bunch into a band barely two dollars deep: the second-highest is $37.17 and the eighth is $35.15. Absol is not a character whose value tapers off; it is one card, a hole, and a flat line.
How this list was built
Three rules, applied in this order.
- The card has to sit in a Chinese-only set. Every card below carries a set code ending in C — CBB3C, csv5C and csv8C. That trailing letter marks a Simplified Chinese print run, and it is the dependable way to tell a Chinese-only card from a card that merely happens to be printed in Chinese. Reading a Chinese set code from end to end covers the whole system.
- The card has to have a tracked PSA 10 value. Eleven Absol cards exist in these sets and nine have a PSA 10 price on record. The two that do not are the Master Ball foil at #83 from Dark Crystal Blaze and the Brilliant Fantasy print at #127, neither of which has a graded sold record yet, and a card with no price cannot be ranked.
- The card has to be a Pokémon card. Sealed product, trainer cards and energy are out of scope.
One exclusion applies here as it does to every character ranking we publish. Promo printings of Absol exist in Chinese and they are not on this list. Promo numbering is shared across the Chinese branches — the same promo number appears in Traditional Chinese product as well — so a promo number on its own cannot establish which branch a card came from. Everything below sits inside a numbered set whose code ends in C, which is unambiguous.
The top 5, ranked
5. Absol [Stars] #803 — Gem Pack Vol. 3 (CBB3C) — $36.73
Raw $1.50 · grade 9 $12.13
The stars-pattern foil from the Vol. 3 group, and one half of a tie: two separate treatments of this character finish at exactly the same value, and this is the second of them. Raw copies sit at $1.50 against a grade 9 record of $12.13, so the step from raw to PSA 10 is 24.5 times.
4. Absol #801 — Gem Pack Vol. 3 (CBB3C) — $36.74
Raw $1.49 · grade 9 $12.13
The plainest card in the Vol. 3 group, and only a cent above the stars foil below it. Its raw price of $1.49 is the joint-lowest of any Absol card, and the grade 9 record of $12.13 is identical to the two cards either side of it on this list — which is the pattern across the whole bottom of Absol: four treatments, four near-identical prices.
3. Absol [Poke Ball] #83 — Dark Crystal Blaze (csv5C) — $36.99
Raw price not tracked · grade 9 record not available
The only card on this list with neither a raw price nor a grade 9 figure on record, which makes it the one entry whose position rests entirely on PSA 10 sales. It is the Poké Ball treatment of #83, and the same card number appears in two further treatments in this product — one unpriced on this list and one Master Ball foil with no graded record at all.
2. Absol [Masterball] #805 — Gem Pack Vol. 3 (CBB3C) — $37.17
Raw $1.59 · grade 9 $12.27
The highest card here below the stamped foil, and the top of the flat band. Raw copies are tracked at $1.59 and grade 9 at $12.27, so the multiple from raw to PSA 10 is 23.4. It finishes two dollars and two cents above the eighth-placed card, which is the entire spread of everything under the leader.
1. Absol [Stamped] #806 — Gem Pack Vol. 3 (CBB3C) — $250
Raw $2.23 · grade 9 $14.50
The most valuable Absol card in Simplified Chinese, and the only one above $38. It is the stamped foil of the Vol. 3 group, and its raw price of $2.23 is only a few cents above the ordinary prints around it — yet in a PSA 10 holder it is tracked at $250, a multiple of 112.1. That is the eighth-widest step between raw and graded value among the twelve hundred cards in these sets, and it is what puts this single card ahead of the other eight combined. Grade 9 is tracked at $14.50, so the middle grade carries almost none of the premium.

What the ranking shows
Absol’s value is one card and a hole. The leader holds 47.1 percent of the character on its own, the eight cards beneath it together hold 52.9 percent, and nothing at all sits between them.
| Band | Cards | Combined PSA 10 value | Share of total |
|---|---|---|---|
| $250 – $500 — ranked 1 | 1 | $250 | 47.1% |
| $100 – $250 — none | 0 | $0 | 0% |
| Under $100 — ranked 2 to 9 | 8 | $281 | 52.9% |
| Every priced Absol card | 9 | $531 | 100% |
Two further points run across the whole group.
Seven cards share a band two dollars wide. Ranks two through eight run from $37.17 down to $35.15 — seven separate treatments, spread across two products, separated by $2.02 in total. The base print, the Master Ball foil, the Poké Ball foil, the stars pattern and the rotary pattern are all priced within pennies of one another, because inside a Gem Pack group the treatments differ in rarity of printing rather than in the amount of the card that is printed. The volume-by-volume guide sets out how those groups are built.
The leader is priced as an outlier, not as a rarer version of the same card. Its raw copy is tracked at $2.23 against $1.49 for the ordinary print below it — a difference of seventy-four cents. Graded, the gap becomes $250 against $36.74. Whatever makes the stamped foil scarce is not reflected in the raw market at all, and the entire separation exists in the holder. That is the opposite of how the Gengar and Charizard rankings behave at the top, where the highest cards carry the highest raw prices too.
Where Absol is printed
| Product | Set code | Absol cards |
|---|---|---|
| Gem Pack Vol. 3 | CBB3C | 7 |
| Dark Crystal Blaze | csv5C | 3 |
| Brilliant Fantasy | csv8C | 1 |
| Total | 11 |
The counts are cards, not artworks. Seven of the eleven come from Gem Pack Vol. 3, where Absol occupies a single group: six ordinary treatments running #801 to #806 plus the ex print at #807. That is why the bottom of this list is so crowded and so even — six of the seven Vol. 3 cards sit within two dollars of each other, and the seventh is the stamped foil at the top.
Dark Crystal Blaze prints the same card number three times, at #83, in a plain version and two ball foils; only the Poké Ball treatment has a price on record. Brilliant Fantasy adds one card at #127 with no price at all. Absol is a third-generation Pokémon, so — unlike Charizard and Pikachu — he has no Collect 151 entry, since that set covers only the original 151 characters.
If you want one card
- One card, no budget limit: the stamped foil from Gem Pack Vol. 3 at #806, at $250. It is the highest tracked Absol card in the language by a factor of nearly seven, and its raw copy costs only a few cents more than the ordinary print beside it.
- The card that grades up most: the same #806, at 112.1 times its raw price. Raw copies are tracked at $2.23 and PSA 10 copies at $250 — the eighth-widest step in these sets, and the clearest case here of a printed finish rather than a raw card carrying the price.
- The lowest entry point: the ex print from Vol. 3 at #807, at $25. It is the only Absol card below $35, and it is the one card in the group that carries the ex suffix rather than a foil treatment.
Frequently asked questions
Which Absol card is the most valuable in Simplified Chinese?
The stamped foil from Gem Pack Vol. 3 — #806 — carries the highest tracked PSA 10 value of any Absol card in the Chinese-only numbered sets, at $250. It is the only Absol card in the language above $100, and the next card below it is tracked at $37.17. Chinese promo printings sit outside that comparison, because their numbering is shared between the Chinese branches.
Why is there nothing between $40 and $250?
Because the stamped foil is the only Absol card that the graded market treats as scarce. Every other Absol card is an ordinary treatment inside a Gem Pack group or a ball foil from Dark Crystal Blaze, and those trade in a narrow band under $38. Nine cards, and the distribution has one outlier and no middle — the gap is a fact about how this one character was printed, not a sign that cards between the two prices have been missed.
How many Absol cards are there in the Chinese-only sets?
Eleven, across three products: seven from Gem Pack Vol. 3, three from Dark Crystal Blaze and one from Brilliant Fantasy. Nine of the eleven carry a tracked PSA 10 value; the Master Ball foil at #83 and the Brilliant Fantasy print at #127 do not.
Is a PSA 10 worth the premium over a raw card?
On the stamped foil, emphatically: raw copies are tracked at $2.23 and PSA 10 copies at $250, a multiple of 112.1, which is the eighth-widest step among the twelve hundred cards in these sets that carry both prices. Across the rest of the list the multiples are high but consistent — between 17.9 and 29.8 times — because every raw copy here is priced under two dollars. Grading outcomes are never certain, and nothing here is a prediction about what any individual card will grade at.
How does Absol compare with the other characters ranked here?
His $531 combined total is among the smallest of the character rankings published on this site, and his top card at $250 is the only one of his cards above $40. Internally he is split in two: one card at $250, eight between $25 and $37, and $210 of empty space in between. His top card is worth nearly seven times the next one. For a wider view of the market rather than one character, the ten most popular Chinese-exclusive cards ranks across Pokémon, and the price ladder sorts the same catalogue into bands.
Other character rankings
Each character ranked here has its own page: Pikachu, Charizard, Gengar, Psyduck, and the nine forms of the Eevee family — Eevee, Umbreon, Sylveon, Espeon, Leafeon, Glaceon, Jolteon, Vaporeon and Flareon. Ceruledge and Floragato are ranked separately.
