The Ten Trafalgar Law Cards That Define the Character

Written by

in

Law is the counter-example to almost every other character on this site. Where Ace loses life the moment a second colour appears, Law is built out of second colours: three of his four Leaders pair two. Where Shanks concentrates, Law spreads — six colours across 28 Character cards with no single colour above a third of them. Here is our top 10, in rank order.

Quick answer

The ten Trafalgar Law cards that define the character are his four Leaders followed by the six Character cards at the top of his power curve. Law has 28 Character cards and 4 Leaders across 24 products, 32 in total. Three of the four Leaders are two-colour, and only one is single-colour at full 5 life. On the Character side there is one card at 10,000 power, two at 9,000 and nothing else above 8,000.

This page does not rank by price. Our asking prices live on the product pages and move with the market; what is below is what the cards themselves state.

How this list was built

  • Leader cards first. Four Leaders, three of them two-colour — that is the character’s whole structural identity and there is no honest way to write a Law list that starts anywhere else.
  • Leaders ranked by life, then first printing. The single-colour Leader at 5 life comes first, then the three at 4. Life is the first key because it is the number a deck builder feels immediately.
  • Character cards ranked by power, then cost. The cut from 9,000 to 8,000 is where Law stops winning fights unaided, so the ordering matters more here than on a flat character like Ace.

Cards that name Law alongside another character appear on this page and on the other character’s page. Playmats, don cards and sealed product are out of scope.

The top 10, ranked

1. OP14-001 — Red — Leader — 5 life — OP14-EB04

The only single-colour Law Leader and the only one at 5 life. On a character whose other three Leaders all cost life for a second colour, this is the full-strength version — and it arrived through an Extra Booster pathway rather than a main set, which makes it the least obvious card in the run to find.

2. OP01-002 — Red/Green — Leader — 4 life — OP-01

The first Law Leader ever printed, from the opening set, and the first four-life card on this list. Red/Green is the colour pair that most of his early support sits in, so this is the Leader that a Law deck built from the early sets would use.

3. OP10-022 — Green/Yellow — Leader — 4 life — OP-10

The second two-colour Leader, and the only Green/Yellow card in the whole Law run. Nine main sets separate it from the first Leader on this page, which is a long gap for a character with only four Leaders in total.

4. ST10-001 — Red/Purple — Leader — 4 life — ST-10

The third two-colour Leader and the only one from a starter deck. Three of the four Leaders are two-colour, and between them they cover Red/Green, Green/Yellow and Red/Purple — a chain that touches five of the six colours without any Leader using more than two.

5. OP14-009 — Red — 9 cost — 10,000 power — OP14-EB04

The only Law Character card at 10,000 power and the highest cost in the run at 9. It also comes from the same Extra Booster pathway as the single-colour Leader, which means the two best cards in the character arrived in the same product.

6. OP16-030 — Green — 8 cost — 9,000 power — OP-16

First of the two 9,000-power cards, and the higher cost of the pair. Green is the character’s most-printed colour at nine cards, so this is the most on-colour giant Law has.

7. OP10-119 — Yellow — 7 cost — 9,000 power — OP-10

The second 9,000, two cost cheaper than the one above it for the same power. By the same logic used throughout this site, the cheaper card at equal power is the more efficient one — and the more useful one in a deck.

8. OP12-073 — Purple — 7 cost — 8,000 power — OP-12

The first card below the 9,000 line, and the point where Law needs help to win a fight. Purple appears seven times across the character, tied with Red for second place.

9. OP12-106 — Yellow — 6 cost — 7,000 power — OP-12

A 7,000 with a printed counter of 1,000. The counter is the number that matters when the card sits in hand rather than on the board, and this is the cheapest card on the list that carries one.

10. PRB02-002 — Red — 6 cost — 7,000 power — PRB-02

The reprint-set entry, same numbers as the card above and a different product. Same card number, different product is the page for why that distinction matters more than the stats do.

What the ten show

What was counted Result
Trafalgar Law Character cards 28
Trafalgar Law Leader cards 4
Total, across products 32 in 24 products
Leaders that are two-colour 3 of 4
Leader life totals 5, 4, 4, 4
Character cards above 9,000 power 1
Colours across all 32 Green 9, Red 7, Purple 7, Yellow 6, Blue 4, Black 2

Two things stand out. First, three two-colour Leaders out of four is the highest ratio in this series — Ace has two out of four, Luffy has seven out of seventeen, Zoro has none. Law is a character you build in pairs.

Second, the colour spread is the flattest we index: six colours, top to bottom 9 to 2, and no single colour reaching 30 per cent of the run. Ace has two colours on ten cards each and two colours on one card each; Law has nothing that lopsided. That makes a Law collection harder to define by colour and easier to define by Leader.

PRB-02 One Piece card PRB02-002 artworkPRB02-002 Character Red 6 7,000

Two cards come from the same OP14 Extra Booster pathway, and that is the single most useful fact on this page for a buyer: the character’s best Leader and best Character card arrived together, so one product covers both. One starter deck appears, and no promos — a much easier run to assemble than Luffy’s.

If you want one card

Take OP01-002. It is the first Law Leader, a four-life Red/Green card from the opening set, and the version that the character’s early support was printed around. If you want the strongest single card instead, take OP14-009 — 9 cost, 10,000 power, the only Law card at that ceiling.

Frequently asked questions

How many Trafalgar Law cards are there?

Bandai lists 28 Trafalgar Law Character cards and 4 Leader cards, 32 in total, spread across 24 products.

Why are three of the four Law Leaders two-colour?

That is the design decision the character has been given: Law is built around pairs. His four Leaders cover Red/Green, Green/Yellow and Red/Purple, plus one single-colour Red at full 5 life. No Leader uses more than two colours, but between them they reach five of the six.

What is the highest power Trafalgar Law card?

10,000, on OP14-009, a 9-cost Red Character card. It is the only Law card at that ceiling. Below it sit two 9,000-power cards, then a drop to 8,000 and 7,000 — the cliff that decides which of his cards can win a fight alone.

Which colour is Trafalgar Law printed in most?

Green, with 9 of the 32 cards, then Red and Purple tied at 7 and Yellow at 6. Blue appears 4 times and Black twice. It is the flattest colour spread of any character we index — no single colour reaches 30 per cent of the run.
